About the position
Our atmospheric restaurant Himalaya, located in Hoorn, is looking for an Independent Working Chef I.
At Himalaya, everything revolves around authentic flavors from Himalayan cuisine, quality, and hospitality. You will work in a friendly and close-knit team where passion for cooking is central. No two days are the same, and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to further develop yourself.
Role & Responsibilities
As an Independent Working Chef I, you are responsible for independently carrying out kitchen tasks and actively contributing to the quality and consistency of our dishes.
Your tasks include, among others:
-Independently preparing ingredients (mise en place)
-Applying basic cooking techniques
-Contributing ideas for the composition and development of menus and working methods
-Taking responsibility for inventory management and ordering
-Providing technical guidance and supervision to kitchen assistants
What you bring as an Independent Working Chef I – Restaurant Himalaya
-MBO level 3 working and thinking level (vocational education)
-Demonstrable knowledge of basic cooking techniques
-Independent, responsible, and able to handle stress well
-A team player with an eye for quality and hygiene

-Competitive salary: €2,650 – €3,200 gross per month (depending on experience and skills)
