# Independent Cook I – Mala Wang Amsterdam
Mala Wang in Amsterdam is a restaurant located on Oosterdokskade where guests can enjoy flavourful Chinese dishes with bold spices, rich aromas and distinctive flavours from Sichuan cuisine. The restaurant is known for its varied dishes, fresh ingredients and pronounced flavour combinations. To strengthen the kitchen team, Mala Wang Amsterdam is looking for an Independent Cook I.
## Position & Responsibilities
As an Independent Cook I, you are responsible for independently carrying out kitchen activities and actively contributing to the quality of our dishes.
Your responsibilities include:
* Independently preparing ingredients (mise-en-place)
* Applying basic cooking techniques
* Contributing ideas and providing input on the composition and adjustment of menus, menu items and working methods
* Taking responsibility for inventory management and placing orders
* Providing technical guidance and supervising kitchen assistant(s).
## What do you bring as an Independent Cook I?
* MBO Level 3 working and thinking level or equivalent
* Demonstrable knowledge of basic cooking techniques
* Independent, responsible and able to perform well under pressure
* Team player with an eye for quality and hygiene.

* Competitive salary: €2,650 – €3,250 gross per month, depending on skills and level
