Now that autumn is soon to start in Iceland the Icelandic slaughterhouses are in full preparations for the coming slaughter season. As a result, one of the leading slaughterhouses in northern Iceland is searching for qualified slaughters and meat processing personnel.
Temporary job:
The job opening for the season if from the 15.09.2022 and finishes at approx. 27.10.2022.
The job includes free accommodation. The accommodation is in a motel approx. 300 meters from the workplace. There is a variation between the rooms and in some cases the rooms are shared.
The company offers, breakfast, lunch, and dinner free of charge from Mondays – Thursdays. Employees need to arrange their own food on Fridays and in the weekends.
Work hours are weekdays from 07:30 – 16:30 (Max 40 hours week). and weekends are closed.
On average, the slaughterhouse is processing 1100 lambs each day. During the whole season they process approx. 27000 lambs and 3000 sheep.
Qualifications:
It is required that the employee is an experienced butcher or meat processor.
Experience of skinning and removal of inner organs is especially important.
Good physical health.
